Dear friends, partners, and fellow builders of the cocoa future,

For centuries, cocoa has been one of the world’s most treasured crops — yet far too much of its value has left the very communities that nurture it. The Cocoa Bridge Alliance was born from a simple, powerful conviction: that West Africa’s cocoa origins should no longer be seen only as sources of raw beans, but as global centers of innovation, science, and value creation.

Today, we stand at a turning point. From cosmetics and pharmaceuticals to advanced nutrition, biomaterials, and the circular economy, cocoa derivatives are unlocking possibilities that were unimaginable just a decade ago. The question is no longer whether cocoa can power a new industrial frontier. The question is whether the communities at origin will help shape it.

Through our five pillars — Innovation & R&D, Local Transformation, Economic Diplomacy, Cooperatives & Inclusion, and Academic Programs — we are building the bridges that connect farmers, researchers, laboratories, companies, and institutions across continents. And in Fall 2027, in Connecticut, USA, the CIDS summit will gather this ecosystem for the first time in North America to prove what we already know: the future of cocoa is not extractive. It is collaborative, innovative, and deeply rooted in origin.
