What is the Cocoa Bridge Alliance?+
The Cocoa Bridge Alliance (CBA) is a non-profit organization incorporated in Connecticut, United States. It connects West African cocoa origin with global science, industry, and markets so that more of cocoa's value stays in producing countries.
What does the Cocoa Bridge Alliance actually do?+
CBA runs five program pillars: research and innovation on cocoa derivatives, processing capacity at origin, economic diplomacy, cooperatives and inclusion, and academic programs. It also organizes the Cocoa Innovation & Derivatives Summit (CIDS).
When and where is the CIDS 2027 summit?+
The Cocoa Innovation & Derivatives Summit 2027 will take place in Fall 2027 in Connecticut, United States. Programme details, speakers, and registration openings are announced first through the CIDS 2027 newsletter.
Who can attend or sponsor CIDS 2027?+
Institutions, companies, universities, laboratories, cooperatives, NGOs, and investors active in cocoa or its derivative sectors can attend. Sponsorship packages are presented on the CIDS 2027 sponsorship page, and enquiries go to info@cocoabridgealliance.org.
How can my organization become a partner?+
CBA defines partnership pathways for institutions, companies, universities, laboratories, cooperatives, and NGOs, each describing what the partner brings and what they gain. Start by sending an expression of interest through the contact form or to info@cocoabridgealliance.org.
What are cocoa derivatives and why do they matter?+
Cocoa derivatives are the products obtained from the bean and the pod: cocoa liquor, butter, powder, nibs, shell, pod husk, and isolated compounds such as flavanols and theobromine. They feed cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, nutrition, and biomaterials markets that are far more valuable than raw bean exports.
Which countries does CBA focus on?+
CBA's programs focus on West African cocoa-producing countries, starting with Côte d'Ivoire and its neighbours, while connecting them to partners in the United States, Europe, and other international markets.

Is the Cocoa Bridge Alliance the same as other organizations with similar names?+
No. Cocoa Bridge Alliance is an independent non-profit incorporated in Connecticut in 2025, headquartered at 2389 Main St, Ste 100, Glastonbury, CT 06033-4617, founded by Thomas Kaudjhis Acahoua and dedicated to cocoa innovation, derivatives, and value retention at origin in West Africa. It is a separate legal entity from any similarly named organization, and its only official website is cocoabridgealliance.org.
